Join the Jewish Community as we End Chanukah on a High! The final lighting of the tallest menorah in Canada will take place this coming Tuesday December 27, 2011. The Silber Family Agam Menorah, will, have all 8 candles lit in a ceremony marking the final eve of Chanukah.
Chanukah is a festival that lasts for 8 days, starting this year on Tuesday evening December 20, and continuing until Wednesday December 28. The Menorah (Chanukah Candelabra) is lit each evening, as the Festival begins on the eve of.
The Silber Family Agam Menorah, has become an icon in the Vancouver Community. Originally donated by the late Fred Silber, the Menorah that stands over 30' tall, is maintained by Mr. Arnold Silber and family. It stands proudly on the Plaza in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery, at the corner or Georgia and Hornby Sts.
The ceremony includes greeting from the Jewish Community, Politicians from various government levels, and community leaders.
There will be Chanukah refreshments, and the ceremony should last app. 45 minutes.
